slow and...

steady zine is coming along fucken slow but thats how it is...if it was like other zines it would be done and out..but its kind of different...just have to wait and see..im waiting on a printer to arrive in the post we got off ebay so i can do some test prints and than ill decide what size it will be...either A6 or the size of a cd booklet..im trying to work it so each interview is grouped on either 2 - 4 pages and the text all has to fit..I thought id do small interviews with less questions, but turns out i talk to much and my questions are to long, and some of the answers iv got are good and long too...so its turning out to be a bit of work..

Iv also decided to release it with a cd comp ill put together myself, with a track from each of the bands i have interviewed assuming they give me permission..so far everyone iv asked has so thats really good...

reason im doing the comp cd is that Iv also decided im going to donate ALL the money from the zine to charity for teenage suicide prevention...i had the idea of calling a band suicide control years ago..the zine could be called suicide control but i decided on steady a while ago coz its one word and i dig it..

there will only be 83 issues of the zine, and about 20 or so are gonna be sent out to the bands iv interviewed so that leaves not many to buy, ill do em all by paypal i think or might send a few to each state to distro...they will be cheap i think, probably around the $5 mark..

I also need to get my shit together and send the remaining interviewees my questions...so that should happen in the next couple of days i hope..

anyway im putting a bit of effort into this and i hope it turns out well...and i hope people dig it..iv got another idea, and im gonna write it here so if anyone else does it they read it here and stole the idea off me...

a zine..that is 12 interviews...one for each month of the year..that is also a calender....yeah i reckon that would be cool to shit on the toilet and be able to read an interview at the same time and know what day of the month it is as well...if i do another zine..thats what it will be...fuck the haters..its a good idea hahaha...and if its already been done than that sucks because i have never seen it but i dont care because i have never seen it..

2009 draws upon me...im going to camp at the woodford folk festival so the computer is gonna stay at home...happy days..2009 is gonna be a good year..

i turned 25 the other day too...never felt better!

BACK AT WORK!

yo im back at work so the designs are gonna stop again for a while..If anyone even reads this or is interested, tenrounds designs is purley and always will be a hobby..i usually do it now once in a while when im not working to bring in some sort of income in, in the past iv done it because either people have asked me to or i offered to coz i loved the band..

im doing a zine at the moment and its gonna be called STEADY! its gonna be a bit different hopefully to other zines layout wise, most of the content will be the ususal questions and answers but with my own style..Got some good interviews done, some others sent out waiting for responses, and others iv lined up but havnt thought of anything good to ask...There will be some other random muck in there and ill probably only do a small run of them because a)no one really gives a shit and b) they will take me a while to do each one....

one of my favorite Australian bands of the last few years is about to play their last ever show..i say the word ever quite lightly because in this day and age, almost everyone does a re-union show at some point, but that's not the point..last fucking show!! I fly in at 5.30pm, don't know where I'm going, but a taxi should sort that out, and than its on....My flight home is at 7.am so I'm going straight back to the airport to crash out in some corner and wait it out to check in and catch my flight..Last time I was in Sydney was for HC05, saw Last Nerve and Hitlist play their last shows, got kinda boozed, boozed enough to jump off the top balcony/speaker stack onto what felt like maybe 1 and a half kids, and than managed to miss my flight home, with $1.50 to my name..funny thing is I didn't miss the flight by any amount of minutes, or an hour or 2, but a whole fucking day..DICKHEAD! fuck anyway its 3.am and I cant sleep, this show is gonna rule, MA, the lions, young dudes Persist, and new band on the scene THE Hollow..traveling light, hope to get a good feed before i go in somewhere, glad I don't have a good camera so I can spend more time in the Pit...

CUTTING AWAY ZINES

Yo so Allan's been keeping himself occupied by doing this little zine called Cutting Away. Issue 1 came out a bit ago, now issue 2 is almost ready...Interviews with 50 lions, Values Here, Time Flies, Go For Broke, Something Inside, and Mindsnet as well as some other zine shit like reviews...Allan's done these zines all by himself, what a champ..not his first zines, as some of you might have picked out an issue of "OUR TIMES" years ago,

MILES AWAY HC04

couple things here..After Miles Away played HC04, willy sent me some photos to update the Common Bond Records website, and with it he sent me a live recording from the sound desk taken from that show..So i don't know how many people have heard this, I know iv sent it to a handful of people when they bought some records or shirts off me, just because..Iv uploaded it now, kinda shit recording really, i think it might even skip a little somewhere because i never looked after this cd as it was just a burn, but its the full set, so if your keen, here you go...

MILES AWAY

found the logo we used on the MA re-issue cd..and i found some old photos i took the first time i saw Miles Away..Nick wanted a website for the band, i said id do it before i even heard these guys, he gave me a copy of the demo and the og miles away shirt, which i sold a couple weeks ago for some stupid reason..anyway first time i saw them, used my mates camera, totally fucked all the photos, last time i ever pretended to be a photographer..most of these are bogus but here they are

Graham asked me to fix up this artwork for re-pressing, just a couple of touch ups, the cd art now looks better in my opinion, but i should have spent a bit more time making the whole booklet easier to read, and making the writing on the spine bigger and easier to read..Anyway if your a big MA fan like myself, and you already have a copy of this or the B9 version, get this copy again for the subtle changes to the artwork..

AGAINST

Iv been doing some shit for old mate. Greg wanted another logo they can use for whatever, not to replace the one they got already, but just so they have something else to use with other shit.


Against are just about to head off on a nation wide tour with Sydney dudes NO LOVE LOST. NLL are good, actually really good, so make sure you get to one of these shows around the country... There is a tour flier floating around, but the band also wanted me to do up some postcards that might or might not see light off day...Hope it does because i spent a couple hours doing this up..



Greg also wanted some shirts done up for future tours, you probably wont see these straight away, hopefully on The Boys Of Summer tour with COMEBACK KID, VERSE and CARPATHIAN tho..




This last shirt wont be getting used, but I still kinda like the design, the contrast between the tiger and the logo is a bit out tho, and there are a couple other bands that have just gone with a similar design so its getting scrapped..

SOMETHING INSIDE / THE TRUTH

The shirt design I did for THE TRUTH got printed, and it looks sweet, pretty happy with how it looks with the gold foil ink..They only got printed in limited numbers so chances are you will never get your hands on one of these.


The SOMETHING INSIDE shirt Allen did up got printed as well in a few different color variations..Here is the gray version which i like the most..

Something Inside / The Truth / Connections

Something Inside are from Senftenberg Germany and play a melodic youth crew style of HC with some ferocious vocals..Allen turned me onto them a couple of years ago and im glad he did, it surprises me really this band isn't as huge as some of the more well know YC bands of this generation like The First Step and Get The Most, but they are from Europe, and well, if its not from the states, most kids don't want to know about it...check these guys out at myspace.com/somethinginside

Allen is in Germany traveling and living and touring with these guys, even filling in on bass on a recent tour..Hes done a bunch of shirts for them recently which can be found on their myspace "shirtography" (must be a euro thing) as well as piecing together the artwork for their latest LP LIONHEART

Allen did up this promo tape art for em, supposed to be released on Powertrip records..




Toni who drums for both Something Inside and The Truth asked me to do up this shirt design with the boombox...hope it gets printed, gold foil ink on black shirts would be nice, or if it was bleached straight into a black shirt as well would look good to..
